When Sally left her position in a leading charity to set up her own business it was the biggest risk she had ever taken. Prior to working in the charity sector, she had work for an organisation which was not only loved by its customer but also by its employees. They were an organisation that had stellar values and walked the talk. By working at the charity, she realised quiet early on that there we so many inconsistencies, high turnover, people had low morale and change was constant. But more importantly there was no cohesion, and everyone was doing their own thing – looking after their own interests. At the top there was a lack of leadership, everyone jostling for some power but no one really wanting the accountability a leader has. There was also a lack of values, sure there were value written on walls and paper, but these were not lived and breathed and therefore had no meaning.
When Sally become an NLP Practitioner, she was invited to dream…she took up this invitation and realised that the dream she had drawn was not flashy but a simple dream of her and her family and in their favourite place. And when she thought about how she was going to make that dream a reality she realised she was further away from her dream than ever before. In that moment she realised she needed to act so, she quit her job to figure out what next and when she realised what was next, it would to be different. She needed to come back differently and work with people that made her heart sing every day.
Those people by the way, are business owners and entrepreneurs who have teams, that want to lead their business cohesively and achieve outcomes through their people.
